Assistant Manager (Capex, Opex)

Qualification : Preferred Chemical /Mechanical – Engineering, Ahmedabad Local Only

Experience : Minimum 7 to 8 years of experience in Chemical Industries must.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented techno-commercial professional from Chemical Industries for the role of Assistant Manager – Purchase. The ideal candidate should possess excellent technical abilities and a strong background in procurement and commercial exposure to oversee the entire project lifecycle, from inception to commercial production.

As an Assistant Manager – Purchase, we are looking for someone with a minimum of 5 years of experience in CAPEX, having played a pivotal role in ensuring streamlined projects with timely delivery and cost efficiency. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in planning, scheduling, and coordinating procurement activities according to project needs. This role requires a combination of strong technical skills, project management capabilities, and effective CAPEX purchase management.

Key Responsibilities:

Must Have:

• Excellent CAPEX purchase management background.
• Purchase/Procurement of CAPEX of Chemical industries mainly Reactors, Boilers, Thermic fluid heater, Different type of Dryers, Centrifuges , different types of Pumps and Valves, Piping material and equipment related to Chemical industries and Civil project items.
• Capex procurement of Electrical Panels, DG Set, Automation DCS, PLC and instrumentation.
• Opex items mainly of Chemical industries i.e.; Fasteners, Spares of pumps & Valves , Lab chemicals, Civil and Mechanical , electrical consumables
• Getting quotations, making comparisons and processing orders based on the approvals.
• Follow up with the supplier/transporter for the deliveries.
• Coordinate with the respective departments like Plant/Stores/Finance for smooth transactions.
• Maintain monthly/quarterly MIS for the Ordering status.
• Prepare various reports in Excel/PPT for better presentation of the data to Management.
• Managing and controlling all the company’s external suppliers with particular emphasis on the purchase.
• Responsible for cost effective and timely capital purchase.
• Identification and new vendor development.
• Purchase Planning and Control matching with the Production Planning.
• To send enquiry to the vendors as per requirement.
• Expedite quotations from the vendors.
• Proper documentation record keeping of purchase orders and related documents.
• Must be very good in written & spoken communication in English, Hindi Gujarati.
• Should have hands on experience in presentation skills on Excel & PowerPoint & preferred SAP experience.
• Should be good in analyzing the spend data & provide logical reasoning, Should believe in self-motivation with positive attitude.
• Excellent understanding of Procurement Process the current Best Practices in Chemical Industries.
