Assistant Manager Accounts

Key Purpose of the Role

The Assistant Manager – Accounts is responsible for maintaining accurate and complete financial records related to sales, purchases, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. The role emphasizes ensuring full statutory compliance with tax laws, particularly related to TDS and GST, and supporting timely audit preparation and regulatory reporting. This is a core accounting function, requiring meticulous attention to detail, strong technical knowledge, and a sound understanding of Indian tax laws and accounting standards.

What Key Tasks will be involved?

Accounting and Record Maintenance:

• Ensure timely and accurate integration of sales and purchase transactions in the books of accounts.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of accounts receivable and payable ledgers.
• Perform monthly reconciliation of sub-ledgers with the general ledger.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation for all financial transactions.

Statutory Compliance (TDS & GST):

• Monitor correct deduction of TDS on vendor payments as per applicable provisions.
• Ensure timely deposit of TDS and preparation and filing of TDS returns (Form 26Q, 27Q, etc.).
• Review GST applied on sales and purchase invoices.
• Support In preparation of GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and Annual GSTR.

Audit & Financial Reporting Support:

• Prepare audit schedules related to AP, AR, sales, purchases, TDS, and GST.
• Assist internal, statutory, and tax auditors by providing timely and accurate data and explanations.
• Support month-end and year-end closure activities by ensuring all provisions, accruals, and compliance entries are completed.

Reporting & Reconciliations:

• Generate and analyse reports for outstanding receivables and payables, TDS payable, and GST liability.
• Perform regular vendor/customer account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support the finance team with management reporting, tax reconciliations, and statutory disclosures.
