Job Overview:

The Assistant Manager Inside Sales will lead and support the sales team in driving conversions, managing leads, and achieving monthly revenue targets. The role includes overseeing lead pipelines, improving customer interactions, guiding sales executives, and ensuring smooth coordination with marketing and operations. The ideal candidate should be target-oriented, strong in communication, and skilled in converting inbound and outbound leads into successful sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive inbound and outbound sales performance across website leads, ads, WhatsApp, and social channels.
  • Review lead quality and funnel movement daily and guide team members to improve conversion outcomes.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of persuasive, customer-centric pitch flows aligned with brand tonality.
  • Collaborate with marketing on lead quality, campaign effectiveness, and funnel improvements.

2. Upselling, Cross-Selling & Revenue Maximization

  • Build structured upsell and cross-sell frameworks to increase AOV and improve customer lifetime value
  • Train the team on communicating product value, benefits, usage clarity, and positioning higher-value SKUs.
  • Monitor pitch adherence through regular audits and optimize scripts to improve closing ratios.

3. Customer Retention & Reactivation

  • Own monthly retention and reactivation targets through strategic WhatsApp, SMS, and call-based journeys.
  • Diagnose key reasons for churn and implement targeted campaigns to revive dormant customers.
  • Promote subscription plans, loyalty programs, and recurring purchase incentives.

4. Customer Engagement & Experience Excellence

  • Maintain high standards of empathy, clarity, and problem-solving during customer communication.
  • Understand customer needs deeply and design pitch strategies that address concerns and barriers to purchase.
  • Act as escalation point for complex customer situations and coordinate resolution with support, ops, and product teams.

5. CRM & Data Management

  • Ensure 100% CRM hygiene including lead status accuracy, call notes, follow-up mapping, and data tagging.
  • Track and analyze daily team KPIs including:
    o Connectivity, Conversion rate, Average handling time, CSAT rating,NPS score, Call drop percentage
  • Generate insights on customer behavior, product demand trends, and funnel
    performance for leadership review.

6. Sales Reporting, Forecasting & Optimization

  • Design and manage the monthly revenue projection calendar, including: o Forecastingrevenuebyproductcategory
    o Contributionperproject/campaign o Agent-wiserevenuecontributionandperformancemapping
  • Prepare weekly and monthly business performance reports with improvement recommendations.
  • Monitor team performance and conduct regular coaching sessions to improve skills and conversions.
  • Support experimentation across sales journeys, WhatsApp automation flows, upsell modules, and reactivation strategies.

7. Team Management & Operations

  • Manage a team of

    minimum 5 inside sales executives

    and drive their performance through coaching, monitoring, and daily mentoring.
  • Prepare rosters, manage schedules, and plan team bandwidth around incoming lead volumes and outbound calling demand.
  • Conduct daily huddles, weekly reviews, and performance analysis sessions with the team.
  • Promote a high-performance culture, ensuring accountability on all metrics.

8. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate with marketing, product, operations, tech, and customer support teams to highlight issues and ensure seamless customer experience.
  • Share customer insights and pain points to influence product improvements, pricing decisions, and marketing campaigns.

Experience & Skills Required

  • 2-4 years

    of experience in inside sales or revenue-driven customer interaction roles.
  • Minimum

    2 years of team management experience

    , handling at least 5 sales executives.
  • Experience in

    D2C, FMCG, wellness, nutrition, beauty, or subscription-led businesses

    preferred.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills with proficiency in

    Excel/Google Sheets

  • Excellent communication in

    English & Hindi

    .
  • Strong command over persuasion, negotiation, solution-selling, and objection handling.
  • Hands-on experience with CRM tools like

    Freshchat, Freshdesk, TataTele, Ozonetel, LeadSquared
