Job Description

Sodexo is looking for a proactive and experienced Assistant Cafe Manager to support the Cafe Manager in overseeing all daily operations of our cafe. This role is crucial for ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient operations, and maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene. The Assistant Cafe Manager will assist with team leadership, inventory management, sales initiatives, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. Key Responsibilities: Operational Oversight: Assist the Cafe Manager in the day-to-day running of the cafe, ensuring smooth service flow, efficient order processing, and timely food and beverage preparation. Customer Service Excellence: Ensure all customers receive outstanding service; handle customer feedback and resolve issues promptly and professionally to maintain high satisfaction. Team Support & Supervision: Support the Cafe Manager in training, motivating, and supervising cafe staff. Help with scheduling, task delegation, and performance monitoring to ensure a cohesive and productive team. Inventory & Stock Management: Assist with managing inventory levels for food, beverages, and supplies. This includes placing orders, receiving deliveries, conducting stock counts, and minimizing waste. Quality Control & Hygiene: Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are strictly adhered to, maintaining a clean and organized cafe environment, including the kitchen and serving areas. Sales & Financial Contribution: Support initiatives to drive sales and meet financial targets. This may involve promoting new menu items, managing cash handling, and assisting with daily reporting. Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the proper use and basic maintenance of cafe equipment, reporting any malfunctions or repair needs to the appropriate personnel. Compliance: Ensure the cafe operates in full compliance with all company policies, health and safety regulations, and licensing requirements. Reporting: Assist the Cafe Manager in preparing operational reports, tracking key performance indicators, and identifying areas for improvement. Qualifications: Proven experience in a supervisory role within a cafe, restaurant, or hospitality setting. Strong understanding of cafe operations, including food preparation, service standards, and inventory control. Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations. Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer skills. Customer-focused with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality service. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.
