Job Description

Area Sales Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets in the assigned area.
Develop and manage a network of dealers, distributors, and retailers.
Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify new business opportunities.
Build strong relationships with farmers, agri-input dealers, and local influencers.
Organize farmer meetings, product demos, and training programs.
Coordinate with the marketing team for promotions, exhibitions, and branding activities.
Monitor stock levels and ensure timely delivery through channel partners.
Track outstanding payments and support collections.
Generate timely reports on sales performance, customer feedback, and market trends.
Recruit, train, and manage a team of field sales executives (if applicable).

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Agriculture / Agri-Business / B.Sc. Agri / MBA in Marketing or relevant field.
5+ years of experience in agri-input sales (drip/sprinkler irrigation, etc.).
Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned area.
Proficient in local language(s) and MS Office tools.

Preferred Skills:

Exposure to micro-irrigation, drip/sprinkler systems.
Existing network with farmers, Krishi Kendras, and agri-dealers.
Understanding of government subsidy schemes (PMKSY, etc.) in the irrigation sector.
