Job Profile

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) will be responsible for driving sales growth, developing distribution networks, and ensuring the achievement of revenue and volume targets across the Eastern Zone. The role requires strong leadership, market understanding, distributor management, and the ability to maintain an effective Company-to-Stockist (C-to-S) ratio from the beginning.

Key Job Responsibilities1. Sales Growth & Target Achievement

- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.

- Ensure consistent growth across FMCG, and commodity categories.

- Plan and execute area-wise strategies to increase market share.

2. C-to-S Ratio Management

- Maintain Company-to-Stockist (C-to-S) ratio from Day 1.

- Ensure timely payments, stock rotation, and financial discipline.

- Avoid overstocking and minimize credit risk.

3. Distributor & Dealer Management

- Appoint, onboard, and manage distributors across assigned states.

- Ensure adherence to company policies and compliance standards.

- Monitor distributor performance, sales, outstanding payments, and stock levels.

4. Market Expansion & Penetration

- Identify new markets and growth opportunities.

- Expand retail and modern trade coverage.

- Conduct competitor analysis on pricing and trade schemes.

5. Team Management

- Lead and monitor field sales staff.

- Set area-wise plans, route schedules, and performance KPIs.

- Provide training, motivation, and performance feedback.

6. Sales Operations & Reporting

- Oversee primary and secondary sales planning.

- Implement monthly schemes and trade promotions.

- Submit market reports on sales, distribution, and competitor activities.

7. Relationship Management

- Maintain strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and wholesalers.

- Resolve market issues promptly.

- Ensure customer satisfaction at all levels.

8. Compliance & Brand Visibility

- Ensure compliance with company policies and trade guidelines.

- Execute visibility and promotional activities.

- Maintain brand presence through POS and market activation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Graduate/MBA in Sales & Marketing or related field.

- 5–8 years of experience in FMCG/Edible Oil/Commodity sector.

- Strong distributor/channel sales management skills.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities.

- Willingness to travel extensively and handle multi-state operations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
