Area Manager - DSMG - Motor Finance - Collections

Key Responsibilities:

1. Portfolio Management:

Manage the Bkt 1 to Bkt 3 collection portfolio for Motor Finance in the assigned area.

Monitor delinquency trends, flow rates, and roll forwards.

Ensure daily follow-ups, field collections, and customer engagement are happening effectively.

2. Team Leadership:

Manage and guide a team of Collection Executives/Agencies.

Set performance benchmarks and review field performance through regular meetings.

Ensure adequate manpower and training for collection field staff.

3. Agency & Vendor Management:

Handle empanelment, onboarding, and performance tracking of collection agencies.

Conduct monthly agency audits and compliance checks.

Resolve escalations and disputes between agency and customers.

4. Customer Interaction & Resolution:

Ensure timely customer outreach for repayments.

Resolve disputes and concerns that may lead to non-payment.

Escalate high-risk or sensitive cases as needed.

5. Compliance & Risk:

Ensure collections are conducted within RBI and company guidelines.

Monitor and report any unethical behavior or deviation from SOPs.

Maintain accurate MIS and field activity logs.

6. Performance Metrics:

Recovery rate (bucket-wise)

Flow rate (Bkt 1 Bkt 2, etc.)

Resolution rate within TAT

Agency performance scores

Compliance and audit scores

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong understanding of retail lending and collections (especially Motor Finance)

Experience in managing early bucket collections (Bkt 1 to 3)

Good interpersonal and negotiation skills

Knowledge of local geography and customer profile

Ability to manage teams and external vendors effectively

Analytical and data-driven approach to portfolio management

Qualifications & Experience:

Graduate/Postgraduate in any discipline (MBA preferred)

5-8 years of experience in Collections, preferably in Motor Finance or unsecured lending

Experience in handling early buckets (ST delinquency Bkt 1 to 3)

Working Conditions:

Field-intensive role, requiring regular travel within assigned area

May involve extended hours depending on recovery situations
