Application Engineer

Sikich India is seeking an Applications Engineer who will be responsible for the design, development, and continuous improvement of Oracle Cloud applications and related systems. This role works under the guidance of the Principal Application Engineer to support strategic architectural decisions, ensure system performance and security, and collaborate across business units to deliver scalable, high-value technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop changes/enhancements to optimize Oracle-based enterprise applications and their related systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Exhibit an agile, cutting edge approach and attitude to drive the company’s delivery of transformative digital strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and align solutions with business goals.
• Drive continuous improvement in development processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, operational standards, development methodology, and technical processes.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and provide long-term solutions.
• Participate in code reviews.
• Work with application teams to provide application support.
• Contribute technical expertise and feedback tailored to team and department needs.
• Stay current with Oracle updates, emerging technologies, and industry trends.
• Perform other relevant duties, as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• 4+ years of experience in application development with a strong focus on Oracle technologies
• Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture and performance tuning
• Proficiency in PL/SQL, Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, and OIC
• Experience with integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, and middleware platforms
• Technical knowledge of business domain/s of Oracle applications
• Functional understanding of various Oracle ERP, HCM, SCM application modules
• Passion for continuous learning
• Excellent analytical, research, and troubleshooting skills
• Thorough knowledge of programming best practices
• Ability to effectively communicate technical, business, and design information
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• High degree of professionalism and ability to maintain confidential information
• Proven self-motivation and attention to detail
• Must be comfortable with virtual platforms including Microsoft Teams for collaboration
• Ability to productively adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced business environment and address multiple tasks simultaneously.
