Job Title: Employee Relations & Compliance Officer
Department: Human Resources
Reporting To: Head – HR
Job Purpose: To ensure harmonious employee relations by advising management on employee issues, grievance handling, labor negotiations, and statutory compliance. This role involves liaison with government bodies, ensuring legal compliance, and maintaining a positive working environment.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Employee Relations:
Advise managers and supervisors on best practices in handling employee relations, grievance management, and conflict resolution.
Support the development of policies that foster a healthy workplace culture.
Conduct or coordinate training programs for managers and supervisors on employee relations practices.
Labor Negotiations:
Collaborate with legal counsel and HR leadership in preparing for and participating in labor negotiations and discussions with employee unions or labor groups.
Contribute to drafting agreements and ensuring alignment with legal frameworks and organizational goals.
Government Relations and Liaison:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with government bodies, regulatory authorities, and law enforcement agencies.
Manage liaison activities with labor departments, factories departments, and other relevant government agencies.
Ensure smooth handling of inspections, audits, and official visits.
Compliance Management:
Ensure 100% compliance with labor laws, factory acts, social security regulations (PF, ESIC), and other statutory requirements.
Monitor updates and changes in labor legislation and ensure timely implementation within the organization.
Prepare and maintain necessary documentation for audits and statutory submissions.
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of labor-related compliances, inspections, and employee relations cases.
Prepare regular reports for senior management regarding compliance status, risk areas, and employee relations metrics.
Desired Candidate Profile: Qualification: Graduate or Postgraduate in HR, Labor Law, or related fields.
Experience: 5 to 10 years in employee relations, compliance, and liaison activities in a manufacturing or industrial setup.
Key Skills: Strong knowledge of labor laws, factory acts, and statutory compliance.
Excellent liaison skills with government bodies and external stakeholders.
Proficient in grievance handling, negotiations, and conflict resolution.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
Ability to manage documentation and statutory reporting effectively.
