About the Role
AI Agent Integration Architect
Deep integrations enable us to scale agent use and dramatically improve our ability to create value for our partners. This role is crucial to building the connection between AI’s agents and external systems, including Electronic Health Records (EHRs), Health Information Exchanges (HIEs), and third-party healthcare partners. You will work closely with our customers and partners, as well as cross-functional teams including sales, customer support, engineering, and agentic design.
We are looking for problem solvers who can work closely with customer IT teams, diagram customer workflows, diagnose technical issues, write complex integration code, and design data pipelines.
What You’ll Do:
Integration Management & Development
- Own the full integration lifecycle for major customers — from gathering requirements through design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support — to deliver seamless connectivity between client's AI and client systems.
- Design, build, and maintain healthcare data integrations (Python, HL7 v2, FHIR, REST APIs, SQL) that ensure real-time, reliable data exchange and accelerate customer go-live timelines.
- Develop reusable components and integration templates that reduce delivery time and improve implementation consistency across projects.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with urgency and precision, driving faster recovery and higher customer satisfaction.
- Lead the creation of deep integrations between client's AI and healthcare systems (EHRs, care management platforms, exchanges), ensuring our AI agents fit naturally into clinical workflows.
- Oversee API and middleware development to enable scalable, secure data sharing across healthcare applications and data networks.
- Collaborate directly with clients and offshore integration teams to align on architecture, timelines, and technical execution.
- Ensure all integrations meet healthcare compliance standards (HIPAA, ONC Cures Act, TEFCA), maintaining the trust and safety of sensitive patient data.
Technical Leadership & Strategy
- Translate business and clinical requirements into scalable, testable integration flows that support the rapid deployment of AI agents in real-world healthcare environments.
- Coordinate implementation and QA with offshore teams, maintaining velocity while ensuring quality and reliability.
- Develop integration roadmaps and strategies that expand interoperability between major EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech) and third-party vendors, increasing system reach and value.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging standards and technologies in healthcare interoperability to keep client's AI ahead of the curve.
Monitoring & Maintenance
- Proactively monitor live integrations to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks before they impact users.
- Manage client communications during incidents to ensure transparency and maintain confidence.
- Maintain detailed documentation — interface specs, data flow diagrams, and architecture — to support scalability and cross-team alignment.
