Admissions Counselor

The Undergraduate Admissions Counselor is responsible for recruiting and enrolling highly qualified students to undergraduate programs. This role involves engaging with prospective students and their families, conducting informational sessions, reviewing applications, and representing the university at various events. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a passion for higher education, and the ability to build positive relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Recruitment and Outreach: Attend college fairs, high school visits, and other recruitment events to promote GCEC’s undergraduate programs.
• Advising and Counseling: Provide prospective students and their families with information about admission requirements, academic programs, campus life, and financial aid options.
• Application Review: Evaluate and make recommendations on undergraduate applications, ensuring that admissions criteria are met.
• Campus Engagement: Conduct campus tours, information sessions, and interviews with prospective students.
• Relationship Building: Establish and maintain relationships with high school counselors, community organizations, and other key stakeholders.
• Data Management: Track and report on recruitment activities, application status, and enrollment metrics.
• Collaboration: Work closely with academic departments, financial aid, and other university offices to support the enrollment process.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience in admissions, recruitment, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
