Accounts Receivable & AR - Collections Specialist (3-7 years)

Key Responsibilities

Collections & Follow-Ups

• Manage the full collections cycle for assigned customers or regions.
  
• Perform timely follow-up via email/phone to ensure payments are received within credit terms.
  
• Maintain daily/weekly collection targets and aging bucket performance.
  

Cash Application & Reconciliations

• Coordinate with the Cash Application team to ensure accurate posting of receipts.
  
• Reconcile customer accounts and resolve payment discrepancies.
  
• Investigate short payments, chargebacks, and unapplied cash.
  

Dispute & Query Resolution

• Identify and resolve billing issues, debit notes, returns, and pricing disputes.
  
• Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, and Finance to close open items.
  

Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare AR aging reports, collection status updates, and risk accounts summary.
  
• Track high-risk accounts and recommend suspension or credit limit revisions.
  
• Support month-end closing activities and AR balance confirmations.
  

Compliance & Process Improvement

• Ensure adherence to internal controls and company credit policies.
  
• Suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce aging.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  

• 3-7 years of relevant experience in AR Collections / Credit Control.

• Strong understanding of AR, billing, collections workflow, and deductions management.
  
• Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  
• Strong problem-solving ability and analytical mindset.
  
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure with tight deadlines.
