Role Summary
Responsible for overseeing the end-to-end receivables process, ensuring timely billing, collections, reconciliations, and accurate accounting of revenue. The role demands a high level of coordination with internal teams (sales, operations, and legal) and external stakeholders (customers, partners, and vendors) to maintain a healthy cash flow and minimize outstanding dues.
Key Responsibilities
1. Billing & Invoicing
Prepare and verify customer invoices as per contractual terms and supporting documentation.
Ensure invoices are generated accurately, on time, and comply with applicable tax laws (e.g., VAT, GST).
Coordinate with operations and sales teams for data validation before billing.
2. Collections & Follow-up
Monitor and track receivables aging on a weekly basis.
Follow up with customers/partners for pending payments via email, calls, and escalation channels.
Maintain detailed follow-up records and proactively flag potential collection risks.
3. Reconciliation & Reporting
Perform customer account reconciliations to ensure alignment between AR ledgers and client confirmations.
Investigate discrepancies and resolve billing or payment issues promptly.
Prepare AR aging analysis, DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) reports, and collection summaries for management review.
4. Accounting & Documentation
Post all receipts and adjustments accurately into the ERP system.
Ensure all AR transactions are supported by valid documentation (contracts, invoices, receipts, credit notes).
Coordinate with the audit team to provide AR schedules, confirmations, and supporting documentation.
5. Cross-Functional Coordination
Collaborate with the finance, legal, and operations teams for dispute resolution and customer settlements.
Support monthly closing activities by ensuring revenue and AR balances are accurate and reconciled.
Assist with implementation and improvement of AR-related processes and controls.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of AR processes, revenue recognition, and cash application.
Excellent analytical and reconciliation skills.
Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / NetSuite / Tally / Zoho, etc.).
Effective communication and negotiation skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (Master’s preferred).
5-8 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, credit control, or corporate finance.
Exposure to multi-entity or international operations (preferred).
Familiarity with UAE VAT or regional tax compliance (for Dubai-based role).
