Accessibility Developer

About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Accessibility Developer with deep expertise in building, testing, and automating accessible solutions for enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience implementing WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, driving accessibility automation in CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver inclusive user experiences at scale.
This role is perfect for someone who has worked on large-scale enterprise systems, contributed to VPATs (Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates), and is passionate about integrating accessibility best practices into the software development lifecycle.Key Responsibilities

• Accessibility Engineering & Development
• Build and maintain accessible front-end code using Angular, semantic HTML, ARIA, and modern CSS.
• Integrate accessibility checks into CI/CD pipelines for continuous compliance validation.
• Automation & Testing
• Design and execute automated accessibility tests using Selenium + Axe, Cypress, Karma, and Jasmine.
• Perform manual testing with JAWS, NVDA, and keyboard-only navigation to validate user experience.
• Deliver accessibility compliance reports and VPAT documentation for enterprise and government clients.
• Collaboration & Advocacy
• Work closely with UX, QA, and backend teams (Spring Boot, REST APIs) to ensure accessibility requirements are met.
• Provide training and guidance to developers and stakeholders on accessibility standards and best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Education: B.Tech in Computer Science (or equivalent).
• Certifications:
• IAAP WAS Certified (Web Accessibility Specialist)
• DHS Trusted Tester v5
• Experience:
• 8+ years in software development and QA, with 4+ years dedicated to accessibility engineering.
• Proven track record of accessibility testing and automation for enterprise-scale web applications.

Technical Skills

• Platforms: Angular, Spring Boot, Salesforce, SharePoint, Responsive Web Apps
• Accessibility Tools: Axe-core, WAVE, SiteImprove, JAWS, NVDA
• Testing Tools: Selenium, Cypress, Postman, Jasmine, Karma
• Other: Script-driven workflows, accessibility defect triage, VPAT production, CI/CD pipeline integration

Preferred Experience

• Enterprise projects involving WCAG 2.1 AA compliance (e.g., UBS enterprise Angular apps).
• Government projects with accessibility deliverables (e.g., state portal testing, VPAT creation).
• Strong understanding of ARIA best practices, color contrast standards, and assistive tech compatibility.

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication skills to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to mentor developers and advocate for accessibility-first culture.
• Detail-oriented with a passion for inclusive, user-centered design.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹14,542.13 - ₹77,022.38 per month

Work Location: In person
