Job Description

We are seeking an experienced PDF Remediation Specialist to join our accessibility team and ensure compliance of digital documents with WCAG 2.0/2.1, PDF/UA, and Section 508 standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in remediating complex PDFs, creating accessible document templates, and performing compliance audits for large-scale enterprise and federal projects.
Key Responsibilities

  • Document Remediation & Compliance
  • Remediate PDFs, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files to comply with WCAG 2.0/2.1, Section 508, and PDF/UA standards.
  • Tag and structure complex document elements such as tables, charts, and forms for assistive technology compatibility.
  • Review and repair document reading order, alternative text, headings, bookmarks, and form fields.
  • Quality Assurance & Auditing
  • Perform accessibility audits using tools such as PAC 3, CommonLook, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and JAWS/NVDA screen readers.
  • Conduct final validation to ensure remediated documents meet compliance before delivery.
  • Create and maintain document accessibility audit reports for client deliverables.
  • Collaboration & Training
  • Partner with content creators, designers, and developers to ensure accessibility from the source.
  • Develop and share accessible templates and remediation guidelines for internal teams.
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members on best practices for document accessibility.

Required Qualifications

  • Education:
  • A.A. in General Studies (or equivalent).
  • Certifications:
  • DHS Trusted Tester for Documents (TT-DOC)
  • IAAP ADS (Accessible Document Specialist)
  • Experience:
  • 8+ years in document accessibility and PDF remediation.
  • Proven track record of large-scale remediation projects for enterprise or federal clients.

Technical Skills

  • Expertise in: Tagged PDF structure editing, accessibility audits, compliance with PDF/UA standards.
  • Tools: Adobe Acrobat Pro, CommonLook, PDF Accessibility Checker (PAC 3), JAWS, NVDA, Microsoft Office Accessibility Checkers.
  • Specialized Skills:
  • Advanced handling of complex tables, charts, and forms.
  • Script-driven workflows for bulk document remediation and validation.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with federal accessibility requirements and VPAT documentation.
  • Familiarity with Accessibility Standards and SOW compliance deliverables.
  • Ability to consult with stakeholders on remediation strategies and timelines.

Soft Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent problem-solving and documentation skills.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to train and mentor others on document accessibility.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹286,059.49 - ₹1,312,641.94 per year
