Job Description

Job Title: Workshop / Service Manager

Department: After-Sales Service
Location: Maruti Suzuki Authorized Dealership - North Bengal
Reporting To: General Manager / Dealer Principal.

Job Purpose

To lead and manage the workshop operations efficiently, ensuring high-quality service delivery, customer satisfaction, and adherence to Maruti Suzuki standards. The role involves team supervision, process compliance, revenue generation, and customer relationship management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Workshop Operations & Efficiency

  • Oversee daily service operations including job card opening, vehicle diagnosis, repair, and final delivery.
  • Monitor technician productivity, bay utilization, and turnaround time (TAT).
  • Ensure adherence to Maruti Suzuki SOPs and service quality benchmarks.

2. Team Management

  • Supervise Service Advisors, Technicians, Floor Supervisors, and support staff.
  • Conduct regular training, skill assessments, and performance reviews.
  • Foster a culture of discipline, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

3. Customer Satisfaction & Retention

  • Ensure prompt and courteous customer handling, complaint resolution, and follow-ups.
  • Monitor CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) scores and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive repeat business through service reminders, AMC renewals, and loyalty programs.

4. Revenue & Cost Control

  • Achieve monthly service revenue targets through effective upselling (e.g., value-added services, extended warranties).
  • Control operational costs, manage inventory, and optimize resource allocation.
  • Track workshop KPIs like labor revenue, parts sales, and warranty claims.

5. Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with Maruti Suzuki audit parameters, safety norms, and statutory regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of service jobs, customer feedback, and workshop performance.
  • Submit periodic reports to dealership management and Maruti Suzuki regional office.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical knowledge of Maruti Suzuki vehicles and diagnostic tools.
  • Leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Customer-centric approach with excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in DMS (Dealer Management System) and MS Office.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma/Degree in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5–10 years of experience in automobile service operations, preferably with Maruti Suzuki or similar OEM.
  • Certification in Maruti Suzuki Service Manager Training (preferred).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
