This engagement involves delivering the initial deployment of Workday Extend following the acquisition of the Extend license. The role will focus on environment setup, foundational configuration, and deployment of five targeted applications aligned with priority business use cases.
Provision and configure the Workday Extend developer environment
Define and implement tenant security, permissions, and deployment frameworks
Establish DevOps processes for CI/CD (build/test/deploy pipeline)
The consultant will be responsible for developing and deploying five core applications:
Work Schedule Management
TAF File Number Onboarding & Validation
Super Choice Forms & Validations
Higher Duty Allowance for Acting Managers
Position Attribute Management
Each application delivery includes:
Requirements validation with stakeholders
Design and development in Extend Studio
Unit and integration testing
Deployment to non-production and production tenants
Knowledge transfer to the customer’s internal team
Strong hands-on experience in Workday Extend (design, development, deployment)
In-depth knowledge of Workday Object Model and security frameworks
Proficiency in XSLT, JSON, XPath, REST APIs
Experience with Workday Studio and Workday Web Services (WWS)
Familiarity with Extend UI components and custom business logic
Working knowledge of JavaScript (client-side scripting in Extend apps)
Basic understanding of Java (for Workday Studio integrations)
Experience with CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins, or Workday-native workflows)
Understanding of Workday tenant management (sandbox, preview, production)
Ability to deliver in Agile environments with iterative feedback loops
At the end of the engagement, the consultant will deliver:
A fully functional Workday Extend environment
Deployment of five targeted applications to production
Knowledge transfer and enablement for internal teams, ensuring scalability for future business needs
