Job Role : Windows Administrator

Location:

Windows Administrator


🔹 Key Responsibilities


1. SCCM / MECM Administration

  • Perform daily MECM operations: software deployments, patching, compliance checks.
  • Troubleshoot SCCM client issues, task sequence errors, WSUS synchronization failures.
  • Handle advanced issues: WMI corruption, SQL problems, replication failures.
  • Create compliance, deployment, and inventory reports.
  • Manage DPs, MPs, SUP/WSUS, and overall site health.
  • Execute ADRs, manage update groups, and oversee server patching cycles.
  • Build collections, queries, SQL/SRS reports.
  • Package and deploy applications (MSI, EXE, scripts).


2. Windows Automation (PowerShell)

  • Automate routine tasks and maintain scripting standards.
  • Manage script repositories, schedules, and automation frameworks.
  • Build automated SCCM reports, dashboards, and ADFS health checks.


3. ADFS Administration

  • Support authentication, federation, and MFA issues.
  • Manage certificate renewals, claim rules, relying party trusts, and WAP configurations.
  • Troubleshoot SSO and federation issues across environments.


4. Windows Server Management

  • Install, configure, and administer Windows Server (2012–2025).
  • Handle OS patching, antivirus operations, and system hardening.
  • Manage AD DS, GPO, DNS, DHCP, ADFS, WDS, IIS.
  • Administer DFS, FSRM, file servers, and backup operations.
  • Troubleshoot advanced server, networking, and cluster-related issues.
  • Create SOPs, RCAs, and mentor L1/L2 team members.


5. Hyper-V Virtualization

  • Manage Hyper-V (2012R2–2025) including VM provisioning and optimization.
  • Configure clusters, replication, storage migrations, and OS upgrades.
  • Perform capacity planning and coordinate escalations with OEMs (HP/Dell/Microsoft).


6. IIS Administration

  • Manage sites, app pools, WebDeploy migrations.
  • Configure SSL, bindings, SNI, URL rewrite rules.
  • Analyze logs and optimize IIS performance.


7. Failover Clustering

  • Work with physical clusters, Hyper-V clusters, and cloud/clustering environments.
  • Configure Always On clusters and storage clustering scenarios.


8. Active Directory Administration

  • Manage AD infrastructure (FSMO roles, trusts, replication).
  • Design & secure OU structures, permissions, and GPOs.
  • Perform DR operations, backups, restores, and monitor AD health/security.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and audit requirements.


🔹 Required Technical Skills

  • Strong expertise in Windows Server & Active Directory.
  • Advanced SCCM/MECM administration.
  • PowerShell automation skills.
  • ADFS/WAP proficiency.
  • Hyper-V virtualization & clustering.
  • IIS, DFS, File/Print, WDS management.
  • Knowledge of PKI/certificates.
  • Exposure to Azure/GCP is an advantage.
