Warehouse Assistant

Job in Brief

The Warehouse Assistant supports the daily operations of the warehouse. This role ensures proper handling, storage, picking, packing, and dispatching of products to retail stores. The Warehouse Assistant helps maintain inventory accuracy, quality control, and a clean and safe warehouse environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Warehouse Operations

• Assist in receiving, unloading, and storing incoming products.
• Help in organising warehouse shelves and storage areas for easy access and safety.
• Maintain cleanliness and follow safety & hygiene standards, especially important for baby products.

2. Quality Control

• Check products during receipt and dispatch to ensure correct quantity and good condition.
• Handle delicate or perishable baby items carefully as per guidelines.

3. Order Fulfilment

• Pick, pack, and prepare orders accurately for delivery to retail stores.
• Assist in coordinate with logistics partners to streamline transportation and resolve any shipping issues.

4. Inventory Support

• Assist in stock counting, updating inventory records, and reporting discrepancies.
• Help monitor stock levels and support replenishment activities as per instructions from Warehouse In-Charge/Merchandiser.

5. Team Support

• Work closely with pickers, packers, and loaders to ensure smooth operations.
• Follow instructions from the Warehouse Supervisor/Manager and support team members when required.

6. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain basic records of received and dispatched goods.
• Update stock movement sheets, labels, and checklists as needed.

7. Coordination with Stores

• Assist in preparing store-wise deliveries based on order requirements.
• Ensure proper packaging and handling as per store instructions, especially for sensitive baby products.

• Attention to Detail: Maintains accuracy and quality in all warehouse processes.
• Leadership: Capable of motivating and guiding warehouse staff.
• Problem-Solving: Proactively identifies and resolves operational challenges.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with stores, logistics partners, and internal teams.

The role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent organizational abilities and strong experience in warehouse operations or supply chain management.

Qualifications

• Any degree (preferred: Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related fields).
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in warehouse management or inventory control, ideally in the retail sector.
• Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory tracking tools.
• Experience handling baby products or consumer goods with specific storage/quality requirements is an added advantage.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
