Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed monthly / quarterly / annual sales targets for construction chemicals products (e.g. waterproofing, tile adhesives, sealants, concrete admixtures, protective coatings, etc.).
  • Identify, pursue, and close new project opportunities in the building, infrastructure, residential, commercial project sectors.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders: contractors, builders, architects, consultants, project owners.
  • Understand specifications for construction chemical products; work with technical / R&D teams to ensure product solutions align with project requirements.
  • Prepare sales forecasts & reports; monitor market trends, competitor activities; give feedback to management to refine product & sales strategies.
  • Manage channel partners / distributor network where applicable; ensure stock availability, visibility, and promotion of products.
  • Conduct field visits, inspect sites, and provide sales support to ensure product usage / application quality.
  • Organize product launches, trainings, & demos for customers / applicators / dealers to increase product adoption.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts & deals as per company policy to maximize margin without compromising relationships.
  • Work closely with internal departments (logistics, technical service, quality) to ensure customer satisfaction and timely delivery.

Qualifications / Skills

  • Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field. MBA in Marketing is a plus.
  • Experience: Typically

    5-10 years

    in sales in construction chemicals / building materials / related industrial chemicals; at least

    3-5 years

    in project sales or key account management preferred.
  • Strong technical understanding of construction chemical products, construction industry practices, ability to read & understand project specifications.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation skills.
  • Good network within Mumbai / Maharashtra in construction / projects sector.
  • Self-motivated, result-oriented, ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within assigned territory / project sites.
  • Knowledge of MS Office; ability to use CRM tools, prepare reports and forecasts.

Reporting

  • Reports to:

    Regional Sales Manager / State Head or Head - Projects

  • Manages: May have a small team of sales executives or territory sales representatives under him/her depending on seniority.

  • Achievement of sales targets (volume & revenue)
  • New project wins / order value from new clients
  • Retention and growth of existing accounts
  • Profit margin / discounts given vs target
  • Timeliness of collections / receivables
  • Market share growth in assigned territory
  • Customer satisfaction / repeat business
