VP Technology & Innovation

Profile in Brief:

VP Technology and Innovation is responsible for strategy across fans, motors, and related technologies. This executive will drive product innovation, advanced motor technologies (including BLDC, EC motors) energy efficiency improvements and new product development from concept to commercialization. Guaranteeing the continuous innovation of products and work processes. The role is responsible for ensuring that the organization remains competitive in performance, cost, regulatory compliance, sustainability, and user experience across globe

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of electromechanical system, for compact Fans (AC-DC), Q Motor Axial Fans, Centrifugal blower’s product development life cycle, including design, development, testing, manufacturing, quality assurance, production marketing sales and customer support.
• Define and execute a forward-looking Innovation and Technology roadmap aligned with market needs and company growth strategy.
• Lead innovation in fan aerodynamics, motor efficiency, electronics, materials, design, and smart technologies.
• Evaluate emerging technologies such as BLDC motors, connected devices (IoT), energy-efficient controllers, high-efficiency blades, and noise reduction systems.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to prioritize investments in core technologies, prototypes, and new product categories.
• Assist in design, prototyping and validation of motors experiment, test, validate and document designed motors within set timelines and cost.
• Must have knowledge of International Electro-mechanical commission standards especially UL507, IEC60050, 600335, 60089, 60080, 600529.
• Market research to determine what types of products might be successful among consumers, research product ideas to determine their viability, and research how existing products on the market are performing.
• VP –Innovation and Technology design detailed project plans with engineering, manufacturing, teams to manage all aspects of product development and production.
• Reduction in Cost in existing products by design changes.
• Detail analysis of rejection and develop process to help in reduction in Rejection.

• Qualification/ Yrs. Of experience/ CTC (optional):

• BE (Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Electronics Engineering)
• OR
• MTech/MS in Design, Motor Technology
• 18+ yrs experience

Competencies Required:

• 15+ years of R&D experience in fans, motors, small appliances, HVAC, or rotating machinery.
• At least 7+ years in a senior leadership role (Head R&D / Director R&D / VP Engineering) in fans, motors, small appliances, HVAC, or rotating machinery
• Interpersonal.
• Communication skills. (listening, speaking, written)
• Ability to keep things confidential.
• Excellent computer skills. (Excel/ ppt/ word)
• Tact and diplomacy in dealing with all as s/he represents the MD.
• Result orientation/ Eye for details/ meticulous.
• Time management.
