We are a lean, innovative studio with a big vision, seeking a resourceful and passionate VFX Supervisor to spearhead the visual effects for our upcoming 3D animated film. We're building our pipeline around affordability and speed, and we need a creative leader who thrives on efficiency and is a master of next-generation tools. This role is perfect for a generalist who can leverage the power of Blender, Unreal Engine, and emerging AI workflows to deliver cinema-quality visuals on a lean budget.
You will be the architect of our VFX pipeline, responsible for everything from stunning environmental effects to intricate hair, fur, and cloth simulations. Your expertise in real-time rendering will be crucial for rapid iteration and final pixel delivery. Responsibilities
- Supervise and execute all visual effects for the film, from pre-production to final render.
- Develop a streamlined VFX pipeline using Blender, Unreal Engine, and other efficient tools.
- Lead the creation of complex effects, including particle simulations, dynamic fluids, and environmental assets.
- Take full ownership of hair, fur, and cloth simulation, ensuring they are both visually stunning and technically sound.
- Implement and explore the use of AI-assisted tools for tasks like rigging, motion capture, and content generation to maximize time and resources.
- Manage a small team of junior artists, providing hands-on mentorship and artistic direction.
- Collaborate with the director and other department heads to integrate VFX seamlessly and meet creative goals.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and optimize workflows for rapid, real-time feedback.
We are only looking for Mumbai Based artist, Others who fall from other than Mumbai area must avoid applying, untill you are planning to shift to Mumbai.

Nature of Work:
The VFX Supervisor on our film is a true technical artist and creative generalist at heart. Your work will be a direct combination of hands-on artistry and strategic pipeline management.
- Pipeline Architect: You will design a custom workflow that leverages the strengths of Blender for asset creation and Unreal Engine for real-time look development, lighting, and rendering. Your goal is to bypass traditional, time-consuming offline rendering and deliver final pixels from a real-time engine.
- A-to-Z VFX Artist: You will not just manage; you will create. You will be responsible for creating a wide array of visual effects from scratch. This includes crucial tasks like sculpting and grooming hair and fur in Blender, then seamlessly migrating them to Unreal Engine for realistic, real-time physics and rendering. The same applies to cloth simulation. You will be the sole senior artist responsible for these key visual elements.
- Leveraging AI for Efficiency: You will actively seek out and integrate AI tools to accelerate production. This could involve using AI for markerless motion capture to quickly block out shots, using procedural AI generators for textures and concepts, or using AI-assisted rigging tools to automate character setup. Your role is to be a pioneer in applying these technologies to save time and money.
- Real-Time Rendering: You will be the champion of using Unreal Engine as a final render engine. You will set up cinematic lighting, utilize the Movie Render Queue for high-quality output, and optimize scenes for performance. This is how we achieve a professional look without the weeks-long render times of traditional pipelines.
Softwares: 3DS Max, Maya, Cinema4D, Houdini & Blender ( Any of these), Also working on AI will be given top priority

Skillset:
- Blender Mastery:
- Advanced Proficiency: Deep expertise in Blender's full suite of tools is essential. This includes modeling, sculpting, rigging, and animation.
- Simulation Guru: Must have extensive experience with Blender's physics simulations for cloth, soft bodies, and fluids.
- Hair & Fur: Mastery of Blender's Geometry Nodes and the new hair system for creating realistic, groomable hair and fur that can be exported.
- Python/Scripting: The ability to write small scripts to automate tasks and build custom tools is a significant advantage.
- Unreal Engine (UE) Proficiency:
- Real-Time Rendering: Proven experience with UE's real-time rendering capabilities, including Lumen and Nanite for high-quality visuals.
- Groom System: Direct experience importing and setting up Blender-created hair and fur assets using Unreal's Groom system for realistic physics and real-time rendering.
- Sequencer & Cinematics: Experience with UE's cinematic tools to set up and render final shots.
- Blueprint: Understanding of Blueprint for creating interactive and dynamic effects or tools.
- AI & Emerging Technologies:
- AI-Assisted Workflows: A demonstrated interest or experience in using AI tools for animation and VFX, such as those for markerless motion capture, text-to-image/texture generation, or automated rigging.
- Procedural Content: A solid understanding of procedural generation to create complex assets quickly.
- Soft Skills & Generalist Mindset:
- Creative Problem-Solver: The ability to find clever, affordable solutions to complex artistic and technical problems.
- Leadership & Mentorship: A willingness to lead a small team, sharing knowledge and helping junior artists grow.

- Strong Generalist: A background that includes experience in various aspects of 3D production, from modeling and animation to lighting and compositing.
Salary: It will be decided as per your expertise and skillset (This will be discussed on teleconic conversation or on personal interview at our studio)
