Job Summary

The V&V Manager will lead the end-to-end Verification & Validation activities for safety-critical railway signalling systems. The role ensures that the system meets functional, performance, reliability, and safety requirements as per applicable railway and international standards (CENELEC EN 50126/50128/50129, SIL-4, RDSO specs,). The position demands deep understanding of V-Model lifecycle, documentation, testing governance, and independent validation strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation and execution of the Project V&V Plan, including strategy, tools, traceability, and success criteria
  • Define verification & validation requirements matrix (RTM) linking requirements → design → implementation → test results

Plan and manage system-level, integration, functional, and field testing for onboard and trackside equipment

  • Coordinate V&V activities with Design, RAMS, Software, Hardware, ISA, Certification bodies, and RDSO stakeholders
  • Develop and approve test procedures, protocols, and reports as per SIL-4 safety lifecycle
  • Own and maintain non-conformance tracking and closure (NCR / Defect log / CAPA)

Ensure compliance to standards including EN 50126 / EN 50128 / EN 50129, IEEE 14764, IEC 61508 & RDSO guidelines

  • Support cyber-security & safety assurance validation of signalling communication and networks
  • Review safety artefacts (PHA, FHA, FMECA, FTA, Safety Case, ATP/CCA documentation) for validation completeness
  • Lead independent validation demonstrations with clients, RDSO, OEMs, and ISA
  • Ensure configuration control of test artefacts through version management systems
  • Lead internal & external audits, and prepare evidence logs for certification

Mentor and manage a V&V engineering team (lab & field teams)

Required Skills & Competencies

✔ Strong knowledge of railway signalling, ATP/Kavach, EI, Axle Counters, RBC, onboard/trackside subsystems
✔ Experience with SIL-4 safety lifecycle and CENELEC / RDSO compliance
✔ Hands-on expertise in HIL, SIL, lab testing, field trials & interoperability testing
✔ Proficiency in test management tools (DOORS, JIRA, ALM, Polarion, TESSY, etc.)
✔ Ability to interpret protocols and interfaces (ETHERNET, CAN, RS485, Vital Relays, DMI, GPS, RF comms, TTC, etc.)
✔ Strong documentation, traceability, and review capabilities
✔ Excellent leadership, planning, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹900,000.00 per month
