Urban Planner & Designer

Urban Planner & Designer – Pune Team

We are seeking a capable and delivery-oriented Urban Designer to join our Pune team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience working on large-scale developments with exposure to the entire project lifecycle - from master planning through approvals to design coordination. This role requires strong urban design understanding combined with technical and regulatory knowledge to support smooth project delivery, client coordination, and compliance management.

Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Architecture and Master’s degree in Urban Planning & Design
• 3+ years of experience in urban design development 50 acres and above
• Working knowledge of planning regulations, zoning norms, development control regulations (DCR), FSI calculations, and approval processes.
• Proficiency in design and documentation software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, GIS); familiarity with Revit or BIM platforms is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of local building codes, zoning regulations, and statutory compliance
• Knowledge of sustainable planning practices and familiarity with LEED, IGBC, or GRIHA certification processes is preferred.
• Strong communication and client coordination skills.
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams, manage timelines, and support design delivery schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the review and analysis of master plans, ELUs, urban layouts, and design documentation in alignment with statutory norms and client objectives.
• Review consultant submissions, GFC drawings, and statutory documents for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in site studies, feasibility analysis, FSI / BUA calculations, and technical due diligence as part of design delivery.
• Coordinate authority submissions, follow-up on statutory clearances, and maintain updated compliance records.
• Prepare design review reports, presentations, and documentation required for internal reviews, client meetings, and statutory presentations.
• Stay updated with local development regulations, master plan updates, and infrastructure policies impacting project approvals.
• Support PMC leadership in tracking project timelines, managing design deliverables, and resolving on-ground design challenges during execution.
