Transport Manager

Job Title: Logistics and Transport Manager

Department: Logistics / Operations

Reports To: General Manager / Operations Head

Location : Eluru, Eluru District

Job Purpose:

To manage and oversee all logistics, transport, and distribution activities to ensure goods are delivered safely, on time, and cost-effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, organize, and monitor the movement of goods and materials.

Coordinate with suppliers, transporters, and warehouse staff.

Ensure timely dispatch and delivery of goods.

Manage vehicle schedules, routes, and drivers.

Monitor fuel usage, maintenance, and insurance of company vehicles.

Maintain transport and shipment records.

Ensure compliance with safety and transport regulations.

Control logistics costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Handle any transport delays, issues, or damages efficiently.

Prepare daily and monthly logistics reports.

Required Skills:

Strong planning and coordination skills.

Good communication and problem-solving abilities.

Knowledge of transport documentation and regulations.

Ability to manage a team of drivers and logistics staff.

Basic computer skills (MS Office, Excel, ERP preferred).

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Management).

3–7 years of experience in logistics and transport management.

Experience in fleet and route management preferred.
