Role Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Trainee – Purchase to support our Renewables Purchase Team. The role involves vendor coordination, material procurement, documentation, and supporting the Manager – Purchase in day-to-day procurement operations for renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in sourcing and procurement of electrical components, renewable energy equipment, and project-related materials.
• Coordinate with vendors for quotations, lead times, quality requirements, and order follow-ups.
• Work closely with the Manager – Purchase to evaluate supplier capabilities and pricing.
• Prepare and maintain purchase orders, comparative statements, and procurement-related documentation.
• Support in vendor development activities and maintain updated vendor databases.
• Ensure adherence to company procurement policies, timelines, and project specifications.
• Liaise with internal teams such as Engineering, Projects, and Stores for requirement clarity and timely delivery.
• Track material delivery schedules and update status reports regularly.
• Assist in negotiation processes under guidance.
• Support in audit and compliance documentation related to purchase functions.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of electrical systems/components (EEE background essential).
• Good communication skills; ability to interact effectively with vendors and internal teams.
• Hindi-speaking candidates preferred for efficient vendor communication.
• Basic knowledge of procurement cycles and supply chain processes (added advantage).
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and basic ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and coordination abilities.
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and work in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• B.E/B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) – mandatory
• Freshers or candidates with up to 1 year of relevant internship experience
• Hindi-speaking candidates preferred
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work on-site in Chengalpattu
