Tool & Die Maker (Designer)

Job Purpose:

To design, develop, manufacture, assemble, and maintain press tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and production quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:1. Design & Development

• Design press tools, dies, and molds using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, UG NX, or CATIA).
• Prepare 2D drawings and 3D models for die components and assemblies.
• Select appropriate materials and manufacturing methods for tool components.
• Analyze product drawings and develop tooling concepts accordingly.

2. Manufacturing & Assembly

• Perform machining, fitting, grinding, and assembly of die components.
• Operate conventional and CNC machines for tool manufacturing.
• Ensure dimensional accuracy by reading and interpreting technical drawings.
• Conduct trial runs and adjust tools to meet required part specifications.

3. Maintenance & Repair

• Carry out periodic preventive maintenance of tools and dies.
• Troubleshoot tool failures, cracks, or dimensional deviations.
• Maintain die life records and maintenance logs.

4. Quality & Process Improvement

• Inspect and verify tool dimensions using measuring instruments (Vernier, micrometer, CMM).
• Support production during tool trials and first-off inspection.
• Suggest improvements in tool design for better efficiency and part quality.

5. Documentation & Coordination

• Maintain tool history, design data, and modification records.
• Coordinate with design, production, and quality teams for smooth workflow.
• Ensure adherence to safety and ISO standards during tool operations.

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of tool design fundamentals (press tools, injection molds, dies).
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, UG NX, CATIA, SolidWorks).
• Good understanding of machining and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Hands-on experience with tool maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
