Job Description

Job Title: The Billing Engineer

Experience: 2-5 Years

CTC: Up to ₹5.5 LPA

Location: Industrial Area, Dahisar East, Mumbai, Maharashtra- 400068

Job Purpose:

The Billing Engineer will be responsible for managing all billing, quantity surveying, and cost control activities related to MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) works. The role involves accurate preparation of bills, cost monitoring, documentation, and coordination between project, site, and finance teams to ensure timely and error-free project billing and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quantity Surveying: Extract quantities from drawings and prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for MEP works. Verify quantities and measurements as per project drawings and site progress.

2. Billing & Invoicing: Prepare and submit Running Account (RA) bills for clients and subcontractors. Ensure timely, accurate, and complete billing in line with contract terms and project progress.

3. Cost & Budget Management: Develop and monitor project budgets. Track actual expenses versus estimated costs and prepare cost variance reports. Assist in cost forecasting and value engineering exercises.

4. Contract & Claims Management: Interpret tender documents and contract clauses. Review and verify contractor and vendor bills against site execution. Manage claims, variations, and escalation processes as per contract requirements.

5. Reporting & Documentation: Generate daily, weekly, and monthly financial and progress reports, including MIS reports for management. Maintain accurate records such as measurement sheets, billing registers, and Bar Bending Schedules (BBS).

6. Coordination & Communication: Liaise with clients, contractors, site engineers, project managers, and finance teams for billing and cost-related matters. Ensure smooth coordination and flow of financial information between departments.

7. Quality & Compliance: Cross-check site execution with approved drawings and billing quantities. Ensure all billing and documentation meet quality and audit standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Technical Skills: Strong understanding of MEP systems and quantity surveying principles.

Hands-on experience in Quantity Take-Offs (QTOs), billing procedures, and contract administration.

Analytical Skills: Ability to perform cost analysis and identify billing discrepancies.

Documentation Skills: Proficiency in maintaining financial documents and generating detailed reports.

Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and coordination abilities for effective stakeholder engagement.

Experience: 2–5 years of relevant experience in MEP billing and quantity surveying.
