Job Title: Testing Engineer – Industrial ApplicationsDepartment: Engineering & Testing

Key Purpose of the Role:To conceptualize, develop, and execute tests on SKF products for industrial applications by adhering to global test procedures. The role involves leading and guiding technicians, optimizing testing processes, and ensuring effective utilization of available resources to meet quality and performance goals.
Educational Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
Certification or familiarity with Quality Management Systems (TS:16949, ISO:17025) is preferred.
Experience Required:4–7 years of experience in Product Design, Development, Quality, Application Engineering, or Testing for industrial products (e.g., seals, wind, railways, etc.).
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in testing and test procedure execution.
Exposure to hydraulic and pneumatic systems is a plus.
Experience with testing machine design & development is an added advantage.
Technical Skills & Competencies:Strong working knowledge of design tools, especially Creo or equivalent CAD software.
Deep understanding of product testing methods, durability testing, and test rig design.
Familiarity with TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and 5S principles.
Working knowledge of Six Sigma methodology and continuous improvement practices.
Proficiency in stakeholder communication, both internal (engineering, QA, production) and external (customers, vendors).
Ability to guide and train technicians and promote a culture of safety and discipline.
Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement SKF Global Test Procedures for evaluating products used in industrial applications.
Lead and support the testing team in executing various test plans, including setup and operation of test rigs.
Collaborate with external customers to understand and translate test specifications into actionable test protocols.
Ensure effective communication and coordination with internal stakeholders and global teams to meet project timelines.
Deliver training and skill development for technicians and workmen to align with evolving business needs.
Plan and implement current and future testing rig requirements to meet business objectives.
Liaise with external testing facilities and vendors for sourcing or developing specialized test equipment or services.
Act as TPM leader for the industrial testing zone, ensuring strict compliance with 5S, shopfloor discipline, and safety norms.
Participate actively in Six Sigma projects to improve team efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Continuously innovate and improve existing testing methodologies and develop new testing concepts.
Provide counseling and support to shopfloor employees in terms of behavior and work-related matters.
Maintain optimum stock levels for testing spares and consumables to avoid delays or downtime.
