This role requires a unique blend of software development skills and in depth knowledge of chemical engineering principles. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain software applications tailored for chemical plant operations. Collaborate with cross functional teams, including chemical engineers and plant operators, to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Implement algorithms and data models that optimize chemical processes and improve operational efficiency. Conduct software testing and validation to ensure reliability and compliance with industry standards. Provide technical support and training to end users on software applications. Stay updated with the latest advancements in software development and chemical engineering to continuously improve solutions. Document software design, development processes, and user manuals. Mandatory Skills Strong knowledge of Chemical Plant Engineering principles and practices. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, or Python. Experience with software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.). Familiarity with database management systems (SQL, NoSQL). Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Skills Experience with simulation software used in chemical engineering. Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure). Familiarity with data analytics and visualization tools. Understanding of safety regulations and compliance in chemical processing. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. 5 7 years of professional experience in software development, with a focus on applications for chemical plants. Proven track record of successful software projects in the chemical industry.
