Job Title: Team Lead – CAMO

Job Purpose

The Team Lead – CAMO is accountable for the definition, development, implementation, and control of procedures and practices within the Engineering Department, in accordance with SolitAir’s Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition (CAME). This role ensures the safe and effective maintenance operations of all SolitAir aircraft, in compliance with internal policies, Civil Aviation Regulations, and other relevant authorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform the duties of a Technical Service Engineer and lead a team comprising Technical Service Engineers, Planners, and Records Officers.
  • Develop, amend, and control the distribution of application procedures and manuals; ensure compliance across the Engineering team.
  • Assist the Supervisor – Fleet Management in cost management and budget control for maintenance operations, including capital expenditures.
  • Assess maintenance personnel for competency and implement corrective actions to address skill or knowledge gaps.
  • Develop and mentor the engineering team to align with SolitAir’s mission and vision in a cost-effective and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with the Compliance Department to uphold the highest standards of airworthiness and workmanship.
  • Design and implement a robust technical training program for Engineering and Technical Planning staff; maintain training records.
  • Monitor the adequacy of Engineering procedures and report deficiencies to the Head of Engineering and Maintenance.
  • Assist Supervisor Fleet Management in engineering matters with the GCAA.
  • Supervise the filing and management of aircraft documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with service bulletins and airworthiness directives (ADs) from OEMs and regulatory bodies (GCAA, EASA, FAA).
  • Maintain effective communication with aircraft manufacturers, OEMs, vendors, customers, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Implement Corrective/Preventive Actions (CA/PA) as raised by the Quality Assurance Department.
  • Support the Director of Engineering & Maintenance in periodic reviews of maintenance contracts.
  • Execute additional assignments as directed by the Director of Engineering & Maintenance.
  • Ensure infrastructure and facilities are adequate for safe operations.
  • Promote a safety culture by ensuring hazard, accident, and incident reporting.
  • Oversee risk assessments related to Engineering-reported hazards.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the Safety Management System (SMS) through training and awareness initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Continuing Airworthiness Management (CAMO), with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Mandatory 5 years of experience with the Boeing 737 Series fleet.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Aeronautical) or EASA Part-66 License with B737 type rating.
  • In-depth knowledge of CAR-M regulations.
  • Strong business acumen in engineering operations, including budgeting, cost control, labor allocation, and inventory management.
