Job Description

Job Summary:

IT Systems Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure for the organization.
Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
Ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
Manage IT staff, assign tasks, and provide support for system-related projects.
Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
Handle system upgrades, patches, and performance tuning.
Develop and document IT policies, procedures, and standards.
Collaborate with vendors and support teams to resolve hardware and software issues.
Ensure compliance with IT standards and data security regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
Monitor system resource utilization, trends, and capacity planning.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Proven experience (5+ years) in systems administration, network management, or IT operations.
Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux server environments.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, and other network security technologies.
Proficiency in managing backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).
Certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA Network+/Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator.
Familiarity with helpdesk or ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
Knowledge of scripting or automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
