A System Administrator L2 (Linux – OpenStack) is an IT professional responsible for the design, deployment, and maintenance of Linux-based systems and cloud infrastructure using OpenStack. This role involves managing Linux servers, implementing security, automating tasks, and troubleshooting issues within a cloud environment.
· Administer and maintain Linux servers (Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS) across UIDAI infrastructure.
· Perform OS patching, system hardening, and performance optimization.
· Manage user access, file systems (LVM, RAID, NFS), and networking (DNS, DHCP, Firewall).
· Deploy and manage OpenStack components (Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Glance, Keystone, Horizon).
· Provision and monitor VM instances, networking, and storage within OpenStack.
· Troubleshoot Linux and OpenStack-related incidents and provide RCA within SLA.
· Use Prometheus/Grafana/Nagios for performance and capacity monitoring
· 4–7 years of experience in Linux system administration in enterprise or data center environments.
· 2+ years of hands-on experience in OpenStack cloud operations and management.
· Experience in Canonical-based cloud platforms (MAAS, Juju, Ceph, Kubernetes) preferred.
· Strong knowledge of Linux administration (Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS).
· Practical experience with OpenStack operations and Ceph integration.
· Hands-on in scripting (Bash/Python) and automation (Ansible).
· Familiarity with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and Canonical tools (MAAS/Juju).
· Good understanding of networking concepts and incident management (ITSM).
· Exposure to CI/CD tools, Prometheus/Grafana, and configuration management systems.
· Good communication and cross-team collaboration skills
