To ensure the efficient, safe, and continuous operation of the continuous casting plant by overseeing equipment performance, process optimization, and quality control. The engineer is responsible for maintaining production targets, reducing downtime, troubleshooting operational issues, and supporting process improvements in line with safety and quality standards.

Support - CCM - SMS - Process - SteelThe Continuous Casting Plant Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the continuous casting process, which transforms molten metal into solid slabs, billets, or blooms. This role involves overseeing process parameters, maintaining equipment, troubleshooting operational issues, and ensuring product quality meets specifications. The engineer plays a critical role in optimizing productivity, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the casting area.

Principal Accountabilities

Monitor and control the continuous casting process to ensure stable and efficient operations. Analyze process data and parameters to optimize casting speed, mold cooling, and strand quality. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, casting defects, or process anomalies. Coordinate with maintenance teams to plan preventive and corrective maintenance activities. Ensure proper functioning of casting machines, molds, tundishes, ladles, and associated systems. Collaborate with quality control and metallurgical teams to meet product quality standards. Lead or support continuous improvement projects (e.g., yield improvement, cost reduction, energy efficiency.. Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and operational procedures. Prepare technical reports, downtime analyses, and shift summaries. Train and support operators and junior staff on best practices and new technologies.
