Job Purpose/ Summary

The Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer for the Blast Furnace is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all electrical and instrumentation systems within the Blast Furnace unit. The role includes maintenance and troubleshooting of power distribution systems, motors, field instruments, drives, and control panels. The engineer is also responsible for implementing preventive maintenance schedules, minimizing breakdowns, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. Coordination with mechanical, operations, and automation teams is essential to maintain uninterrupted plant performance and meet production targets.

Support BF E&I WMLIn the BF E&I WML department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of electrical systems. You will be expected to have a deep understanding of Regulatory Acts/Laws, Functional Knowhow-Process, Compliance & Safety, Preventive Maintenance, and Electrical Maintenance & Engineering.

Principal Accountabilities

Oversee and manage all electrical maintenance and engineering tasks within the department.Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory acts and laws.Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to optimize equipment reliability and performance.Liaise with various stakeholders, including suppliers, contractors, and internal teams, to ensure the timely completion of projects.Manage conflicts and make critical decisions to ensure the smooth operation of the department.Foster a culture of safety and compliance within the team.Use your business and commercial acumen to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.Demonstrate entrepreneurship by taking initiative and driving changes that will benefit the department and the organization as a whole.Exhibit a global mindset by considering the global implications of local decisions and fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion.Manage and develop the team to achieve people excellence, ensuring that all team members are motivated, engaged, and performing at their best.This role requires a dynamic individual who can balance technical expertise with strong leadership and decision-making skills.
