Reports To: Plant Manager

Job Summary:

The Store Keeper is responsible for maintaining proper records of materials, ensuring availability of stock, receiving and issuing materials, maintaining inventory control, and supporting smooth operations of the store as per company procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Material Handling & Storage:

1.        Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.

2.        Ensure proper storage as per item category and safety standards.

3.        Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the store area.

Inventory Management

1.        Maintain updated stock registers and computerized inventory systems.

2.        Conduct regular physical verification of stock and reconcile with records.

3.        Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels to avoid stockouts or overstocking.

Material Issue & Dispatch

1.        Issue materials to departments as per approved requisition slips.

2.        Record all issues and returns accurately in the system/register.

3.        Prepare materials for dispatch and ensure proper packaging and documentation.

Documentation & Record Keeping

1.        Maintain GRN (Goods Received Note), issue slips, return notes, and other store-related documents.

2.        Coordinate with Purchase and Accounts departments for invoice verification and material reconciliation.

3.        Keep records ready for audit and management review.

Coordination

1.        Liaise with the Purchase Department for timely procurement of materials.

2.        Coordinate with Production and Maintenance departments for material requirements.

3.        Report any discrepancies or damages immediately to management.

Safety & Compliance

1.        Ensure safe handling of materials and compliance with company safety policies.

2.        Dispose of scrap and obsolete items as per approved procedures.

3.        Follow FIFO/LIFO principles for material issuance.
