Currently the team plays a key role in the Finance Department in ensuring that the integrity of data within the General Ledger (GL) is maintained to the highest degree. The team undertakes daily accounting interface and GL controls. The objectives are to apply financial controls to ensure the consistency of data between the GL and the bank's administration systems, to monitor accounts in the GL (ensuring they are correctly used). In pursuit of these objectives the team undertakes a multitude of daily and monthly controls that cross all the banks financial systems and product lines. As a member of the team your responsibility will be to manage the accurate and timely completion of daily and monthly tasks allocated to you. You will be responsible for the production and analysis of reconciliations of the general ledger against a variety of source (back office) systems ensuring all outstanding items have been followed up for clearance. You will monitor and reconcile control accounts within the GL and in doing so will take full responsibility for updating the general ledger accounting records.
