Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of stock levels, inventory movement, and reorder requirements. Ensure optimal stock levels to avoid overstocking or shortages. Material Handling: Oversee the receipt, inspection, storage, and issue of construction materials. Verify materials against purchase orders and ensure quality checks are conducted. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate records of incoming and outgoing materials. Generate stock reports, material consumption reports, and inventory audits regularly. Store Operations: Implement and enforce proper store management practices to ensure smooth operations. Supervise the proper stacking and labeling of materials to ensure safety and accessibility. Team Supervision: Lead and guide store staff, including assigning tasks and ensuring adherence to company procedures. Conduct regular training for store personnel on inventory and safety practices. Compliance and Safety: Ensure all materials are stored and handled following safety standards and company protocols. Conduct periodic safety audits and ensure compliance with statutory requirements. Coordination: Collaborate with site engineers, procurement teams, and project managers to fulfill material requirements efficiently. Coordinate with vendors for timely delivery and material quality issues. Cost Control: Monitor material usage and minimize wastage to ensure cost efficiency. Suggest measures to improve store management and reduce operational costs. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelors degree/diploma in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field (preferred). Minimum 5 years of experience as a Store Manager in the construction industry. Proficient in inventory management software and MS Office tools. Strong knowledge of construction materials and their storage requirements. Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Additional Requirements: Willingness to travel to project sites when required. Understanding of safety regulations related to construction material handling.
