Job Description: Store Manager (Family-Owned Business – Indian Cousin Background)

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Store Manager to lead daily operations in our family-owned retail store. As a business run by close-knit Indian cousins, we value trust, communication, cultural understanding, and a sense of ownership in managing our operations. The ideal candidate will balance professional retail management skills with an appreciation for family business dynamics and Indian cultural values.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the store to ensure smooth and efficient functioning.
• Manage inventory, stock levels, and vendor relationships.
• Supervise, train, and motivate store staff for excellent customer service.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and visual merchandising standards.
• Monitor sales performance and contribute to monthly and yearly targets.
• Handle customer complaints and ensure a high level of satisfaction.
• Manage POS systems, cash registers, daily sales reports, and petty cash.
• Coordinate with cousin co-owners for strategic planning and alignment.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, labor laws, and local regulations.
• Be available to step in during emergencies or when other family members are unavailable.

Additional Responsibilities (Family Business Context):

• Attend family business meetings and share operational updates regularly.
• Maintain transparency in communication with cousin partners and resolve any differences amicably.
• Represent the family values in dealing with staff, suppliers, and customers.
• Maintain loyalty and discretion when handling business-sensitive information.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Store Manager, Assistant Manager, or Supervisor in retail.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a family-owned environment with mutual respect and understanding.
• Knowledge of Indian cultural practices and languages (Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Tamil, etc.) is a plus.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Comfortable using technology (POS systems, basic Excel, inventory software).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business, Retail Management, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of retail or store management experience (family-owned business experience preferred).
• Multilingual candidates encouraged to apply.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
