Job Description: Store Keeper

Position: Store Keeper
Department: Inventory/Logistics

Location : Plot No. 204, Industrial Area Phase VI, sector 37, Gurugram

Job Summary:
The Store Keeper is responsible for managing the storage, receipt, issuance, and maintenance of inventory and supplies in a well-organized and efficient manner. This role ensures stock levels are maintained to meet operational requirements while minimizing waste and cost. The Store Keeper will also maintain accurate records of inventory and work collaboratively with other departments to support the smooth flow of operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and invoices.
  • Organize and store inventory in designated locations to maximize space and ensure easy retrieval.
  • Maintain accurate records of stock levels and update inventory management systems regularly.

Stock Control:

  • Perform regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Monitor inventory levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
  • Coordinate with procurement to reorder items as needed.

Issuance and Returns:

  • Issue materials and supplies to authorized personnel or departments as per requisitions.
  • Record and track items returned to stock and assess their condition.

Safety and Maintenance:

  • Ensure the storage area is clean, organized, and complies with safety regulations.
  • Identify and report damaged or expired stock and dispose of it following company policies.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and storage facilities in good working order.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Prepare regular reports on stock levels, usage, and movement.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all inventory transactions.
  • Assist in audits and provide relevant documentation when required.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with purchasing, operations, and other departments to ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers and vendors when needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent Batchelor’s degree in store management.
  • Proven experience as a Store Keeper or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of inventory management software and systems.
  • Familiarity with warehouse safety practices and procedures.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Previous experience of store keeping in a manufacturing industry is preferrable.

Key Competencies:

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina to handle lifting and moving inventory as required.
  • Proactive approach to inventory management and problem resolution.

Work Conditions:

· Work may involve standing for extended periods and occasional heavy lifting.

· Flexible to work additional hours during peak inventory periods.
