Job Title: Store Keeper – Civil Construction (High-Rise Building Project)
Location: Project Site
Department: Stores / Materials Management
Reports To: Project Manager / Store In-charge / Procurement Head
Job Summary:
The Store Keeper is responsible for efficiently managing the receipt, storage, issuance, and record-keeping of construction materials, tools, and equipment at the project site. The role ensures proper inventory control, timely availability of materials, and adherence to company policies for smooth execution of the high-rise building project.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Material Management & Inventory Control
Receive, inspect, and verify materials delivered at site as per purchase orders and delivery challans.
Maintain accurate stock records (inward & outward) in ERP/software/manual register.
Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile with records.
Ensure proper stacking, labeling, and safe storage of cement, steel, aggregates, MEP items, and finishing materials.
2. Issue & Documentation
Issue materials to site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors against material requisition slips.
Maintain proper documentation (GRN, Material Issue Slips, Stock Register, Return Slips).
Track consumption of major items (cement, steel, shuttering, Mivan materials, etc.) and report discrepancies.
3. Coordination
Coordinate with the purchase department for timely material replenishment.
Liaise with site engineers, planning, and quality teams for material requirements and approvals.
Assist in vendor coordination during delivery and return of excess/defective materials.
4. Compliance & Safety
Ensure safe handling and storage of materials as per standards.
Prevent pilferage, damage, and wastage at stores.
Comply with ISO, QMS, and company audit requirements.
5. Reporting
Submit daily/weekly/monthly stock reports to management.
Highlight slow-moving, non-moving, or excess stock.
Report discrepancies, damages, or shortages immediately.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of construction materials used in high-rise projects (cement, steel, Mivan, RMC, finishing items, etc.).
Familiarity with store management systems (ERP/SAP/Excel).
Good record-keeping and documentation skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work.
Strong coordination and communication skills.
Integrity, honesty, and a proactive approach.
Qualification & Experience:
Education: Diploma / Graduate in any stream (preferably Civil / Material Management).
Experience: 5–10 years in construction material store management (high-rise/residential/commercial projects preferred).
Technical Knowledge: Basic knowledge of ERP/Store software, MS Excel, and construction inventory management.
