Store Keeper

Role & responsibilities

1. Material Receipt & Verification

• Receive materials from vendors as per purchase order and verify quantity and quality.
• Inspect material condition and documentation such as delivery challans and test certificates.
• Report shortages, damages, or discrepancies to procurement and project team.

2. Storage & Inventory Management

• Ensure proper storage of materials with labeling and shelf-life tracking.
• Maintain minimum stock levels for frequently used materials.
• Conduct physical stock verification periodically and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Keep stock registers, inward-outward logs, and issue slips up to date.
• Actively Participate in Kaizen (CONTINUOUS IMPROOVEMENT) activities to enhance work process, efficiency, quality and safety.

3. Material Issuance & Site Coordination

• Issue materials as per indents raised by site engineers or supervisors.
• Track returnable items (e.g., shuttering, tools) and follow up for their return.
• Support execution team with real-time updates on available stock.
• Plan and request reordering of materials to avoid site work disruptions.

4. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare daily stock reports and share with project team.
• Maintain all documents for audit, ISO, and internal controls.
• Use software (Software/Excel) for inventory tracking and reporting.
• Ensure gate entry of all incoming and outgoing materials is recorded.
• Maintain and supervise gate entry register by gate security.
• Maintain company material and contractor material register separately.
• Maintain company assets and equipment register.
• Maintain company fuel register with logbook.
• Supervise and responsible for purchase to payment cycle.

5. Safety & Housekeeping

• Ensure housekeeping of store area and safe stacking of materials.
• Follow safety protocols for handling, storing, and issuing materials.
• Avoid wastage or pilferage through effective storekeeping practices.
