Store In-charge

Job Summary:

The Store In-Charge is responsible for managing the overall operations of the store/warehouse, ensuring efficient handling of raw materials, packing materials, and consumables. This role involves inventory management, stock control, material issuance, and coordination with procurement and production teams to maintain smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Store Establishment & System Setup:

• Design and implement the physical layout of the store for optimal space utilization and material flow.
• Establish and document all store procedures (receiving, issuing, inventory counting, etc.).
• Set up the inventory management system (manual or software-based) with proper coding and categorization for all items.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of all inventory.

2. Inventory Management:

• Receive all incoming materials (raw materials, packaging, spares) and verify against purchase orders for quantity and quality.
• Inspect materials for damage and ensure compliance with specifications; coordinate with Quality Control.
• Issue materials to production and other departments against authorized requisitions.
• Maintain accurate and real-time records of all inventory transactions.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and periodic physical inventory audits.
• Ensure proper storage conditions to prevent damage, deterioration, and theft.

3. Planning & Control:

• Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and consumables to prevent stock-outs that could halt production.
• Identify slow-moving, obsolete, and non-moving inventory and report to management.
• Assist the purchase department by providing data for re-ordering and identifying critical spares.
• Implement a First-In-First-Out (FIFO) system to manage material shelf life.

4. Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain all necessary documentation, including Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), Material Issue Vouchers, and stock registers.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports (stock status, consumption, variances).
• Ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date for audit purposes.

5. Safety & Compliance:

• Enforce strict safety protocols within the store area.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
• Manage the storage of hazardous materials (e.g., chemicals for cleaning/drawing) in accordance with safety data sheets (SDS).

6. Team Management (as the company grows):

• Supervise and guide store helpers or assistants.
• Train new team members on established store procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Any Graduate, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A diploma in store/materials management is also acceptable.
• Experience: 5-10 years of experience in a store incharge or similar inventory management role, preferably in a manufacturing environment (cable, wire, metal, or related industries is a significant advantage).
• Experience in a start-up or new facility setup is highly desirable.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
