Job Description

State Head Sales

Role & responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute state-level sales plans aligned with company objectives.
  • Drive revenue and volume targets across general trade, modern trade, and institutional channels.
  • Monitor primary and secondary sales performance, and initiate corrective actions as needed.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Area Sales Managers, Territory Sales Officers, and Sales Executives.
  • Conduct regular reviews, training sessions, and field coaching to ensure team effectiveness and capability building.

Distribution & Channel Development

  • Expand and optimize the distribution network by appointing and managing distributors, stockiest, and retail partners.
  • Monitor distributor ROI and operational hygiene to ensure sustained engagement and performance.

Key Account & Retail Management

  • Manage relationships with key accounts in modern trade and large retail chains.
  • Ensure implementation of trade schemes, planograms, and visibility initiatives.

Inventory & Logistics Coordination

  • Liaise with the supply chain and logistics teams to ensure product availability and timely delivery.
  • Monitor stock levels and minimize wastage or returns.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Provide timely and accurate sales reports, forecasts, and insights to senior leadership.
  • Analyze market trends, competition, and customer feedback to inform strategy.

Promotion & Market Activation

  • Plan and implement local marketing activities, BTL promotions, and seasonal campaigns.
  • Track and evaluate promotion ROI and recommend improvements.

Compliance & Budget Management

  • Ensure adherence to company policies, commercial discipline, and credit control measures.
  • Manage state-level sales budgets and control operational expenses.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Graduate or Postgraduate in any discipline with proven experience in sales & marketing
  • 10-15 years of experience, preferably in the

    Snacks & Namkeen or Food industry

  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Deep understanding of FMCG sales and distribution
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision making
  • Problem-solving ability and customer-centric approach
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM tools

Salary: Negotiable (Salary is not a constraint for deserving candidates)
