Sr. Purchaser/Buyer (Contracts & Procurement)

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Purchaser with 15 years of proven expertise in the oil and gas industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing procurement activities, ensuring cost-effective purchasing of materials and services while maintaining high-quality standards and compliance with industry regulations.

Role & responsibilities

• Oversee procurement processes, including sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet project deadlines.
• Conduct thorough market research to identify reliable suppliers, benchmark pricing, and uncover cost-saving opportunities.
• Evaluate supplier performance based on quality standards, delivery time, best pricing and services.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Project Management, and Finance to align procurement strategies with project and organizational goals
• Manage contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. (e.g., GST, import/export compliance, environmental norms).
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with logistics for efficient supply chain management.
• Prepare and present procurement reports to senior management.

Preferred candidate profile

Key Skills and Competencies:

• Procurement experience in EPC /Oil & Gas
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of procurement principles, supply chain management, and contract management.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Masters in Business Administration, or related field.
• Professional certifications such as CPP, CPM, or similar are preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of the oil and gas procurement landscape in India.

Work Environment:

• Fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent collaboration across departments.
• May require travel to supplier sites and project locations as needed.
