MEPF Procurement Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical Procurement & Sourcing

• Source suppliers for electrical materials such as cables, breakers, conduits, lighting fixtures, transformers, panels, switches, generators, and control systems.
• Request quotations (RFQs), analyze proposals, and prepare technicalcommercial comparison sheets.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to meet project budgets and timelines.
• Issue and manage Purchase Orders (POs) in coordination with engineering and finance departments.

2. Technical Coordination

• Review electrical drawings, Bill of Quantities (BOQ), material specifications, and project requirements to ensure accurate procurement.
• Coordinate with electrical engineers to clarify technical details and confirm material compatibility.
• Support material submittal preparation and follow up with consultants/clients for approvals.

3. Supplier & Vendor Management

• Develop and maintain a database of reliable local and international electrical suppliers.
• Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, lead time, reliability, and compliance.
• Arrange factory visits/inspections for critical equipment (e.g., MV/LV switchgear, generators).

4. Delivery & Logistics Coordination

• Track material delivery schedules and ensure timely arrival at the project site.
• Coordinate with logistics teams for shipping, customs clearance, and warehousing.
• Maintain procurement logs and update procurement schedules regularly.

5. Cost Control & Documentation

• Monitor procurement expenditures and ensure alignment with approved budgets.
• Prepare purchase documentation including RFQs, POs, delivery notes, contracts, and supplier correspondence.
• Generate procurement status reports for management and project meetings.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in electrical procurement within construction, MEP, or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical materials, systems, and technical specifications.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Odoo, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
