Job Title: Sr. Manager – Talent and Skilling Location: Bangalore (with nationwide program and travel) Reports To: President, IESA Role Overview: IESA is seeking a visionary leader to spearhead its national workforce development strategy, with a focus on strengthening India’s talent pipeline in the semiconductor and electronics design and manufacturing (ESDM) ecosystem. The role will lead flagship initiatives of Campus Connect and workforce development. The role involves deep engagement with SEMI , academic institutions, industry stakeholders, and government bodies to build a future-ready workforce and drive innovation capacity in the ESDM sector. Key Responsibilities: Short-Term Programmes Lead IESA’s Campus Connect initiative, a strategic engagement with engineering institutions to raise awareness about semiconductor and electronics careers, inspire innovation, and identify talent early. Work closely with SEMI Global team to roll out the SEMI’s platform’s and Workforce development initiatives and training programs in India. Prioritise manufacturing Job related skilling programs. Drive Boot Camps and innovation workshops to build foundational skills among undergraduate students in semiconductor design, electronics manufacturing, and deep-tech innovation. Coordinate Train-the-Faculty initiatives by bringing in global experts to enhance teaching standards in ESDM-relevant curricula. Develop partnerships with CSR contributors and foundations to fund awareness and training programs at scale. Mapping of the Talent needs of the Industries. Medium-Term Programmes Create Pool of Training institutes/ trainers for Manufacturing job related skillsets and product creation skillsets. Launch and manage a 1-year PG Diploma Programme aimed at upskilling Tier II and Tier III engineering graduates in VLSI, validation, testing, and manufacturing job roles. Align all activities with MeitY’s Skill Development Centre (SDC) initiative, ESSCI and other national programs to ensure policy coherence and maximum impact. Long-Term Programmes Design a national-level Master’s programme in association with leading technical institutes, to create a pipeline of high-end R&D engineers for the ESDM industry. Collaborate with AICTE and MeitY to define and launch a PG programme in VLSI Design and related disciplines. Utilise SEMI platforms and courses available. Track emerging technologies (e.g., semiconductor packaging, photonics, AI hardware) and bring global expertise to create advanced learning and innovation modules for faculty and students. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, VLSI Design or related technical fields. 12–15 years of relevant experience in technology skilling, University Relationships, innovation program leadership, or education strategy, preferably within the semiconductor/ESDM domain. Proven ability to execute multi-tiered training programs and foster collaboration between academia, industry, and government bodies. Deep familiarity with Indian academic and policy ecosystems, including AICTE, MeitY, NSDC, and leading technical institutes. Strong strategic planning, program management, and stakeholder engagement capabilities. Desired Traits: Passionate about building India’s semiconductor and electronics workforce.
