Sr Manager - Solar Design

Role Purpose:

Lead and manage the design, engineering, and technical execution of large-scale ground-mounted solar PV power projects.The role demands expertise in detailed engineering, design optimization, stakeholder coordination, and site-level support during execution and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead electrical design and engineering for utility-scale solar PV projects
• Prepare and review:
• AC/DC Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
• Array layouts, inverter station layouts, control room layouts
• Cable schedules (DC & AC) as per loss criteria
• Perform technical calculations including:
• DC/AC cable sizing, earthing, lightning protection
• UPS, battery, auxiliary transformer sizing
• Shadow analysis and energy generation estimation
• Conduct simulations using PVsyst for performance and yield estimation.
• Use AutoCAD for preparation of all solar PV plant drawings.
• Prepare technical specifications as per tenders and BOQ for all components up to 33kV level.
• Evaluate vendor GTPs and technical compliance of:
• PV Modules, Inverters, Transformers, SCBs, Panels
• Safety systems, SCADA, CCTV, FAS, illumination systems
• Coordinate with:
• Internal teams: SCM, BD, Planning, PRM
• External stakeholders: Clients, DISCOMs, CEIG, CEA
• Support project execution teams on design issues, timelines, and construction alignment.
• Ensure timely delivery of design drawings and documentation.
• Guide 1–2 junior team members (Draughtsman / Engineers).
• Generate weekly progress reports and maintain technical documentation and records.
• Conduct periodic site visits to assess and resolve design challenges during project execution.

Key Skills & Competencies:Vital:

• Solar PV plant engineering (electrical) including grid connection at up to 33kV
• AC/DC system design, energy yield calculation, performance modeling
• Hands-on experience with:
• AutoCAD, PVsyst, ETAP
• Cable sizing, layout planning, system protection design
• BOQ and technical specification preparation
• Deep understanding of IS/IEC standards and contemporary solar design practices

Desirable:

• Proficiency in tools: PVcase, Helioscope, SketchUp, SolarGIS, PSCAD, PSSE
• Experience in SCADA integration, safety system design, and PR/PG testing
• Knowledge of system testing: PR test, CUF analysis, OTGT, yield forecasting

Pay: ₹2,500,000.00 - ₹2,700,000.00 per year
