Job Title: AGM/Sr. Manager- Packaging Design & Development(Commercial Packaging, OTC/Nutraceuticals)

Location: Mumbai

Reports To: Sr VP Marketing Compliance and Strategic Buying

Location: Corporate Office- Govandi East, Mumbai

Working Days: Monday to Saturday(2nd and 4th Saturday off, 1st,3rd and 5th Saturday operational)

I Job Objective

1) To provide end to end support for Packaging Design and Development

2) SAP MDM_ New material master code creations for packaging material

3) Value engineering and SPI projects

II. Key Responsibility Areas

a. Packaging Design &  Development for new & existing products (Domestic & International)

b. Financial delivery in cost savings for packaging materials through strategic buying initiatives

c. Innovation : new ideas around packaging - material, design & process

d. Packaging Material vendor development In-house / LL / 3P (Strategic / Regular) 

e. Design Re-engineering 

f. Project Management 

g. Packaging Procurement Operations (NPD)

h. SAP MDM

Major activities handling :

• New Product Development Project for Pharmaceuticals & Consumer Business Design & Development, Artwork Development, Transit Trials, Packaging Specification development, Stability studies, Prototype approval, Line trials, Cost negation, Packaging material delivery & Implementation, Alternate packaging option
• External supply customers (TP/LL) in packaging material development  
• Successful implementation and delivery of packaging material OTIF as per specification
• Strategic Project Initiatives : Business analysis, Spend analysis, Opportunity Analysis, Option generation, Portfolio analysis, Sourcing approach, Strategy creation & Implementation

           -Specification optimization
           - Size rationalization

• Cost saving initiative for packaging materials : Value engineering in existing and new business requirement alternate vendor development, alternate material development & change in packaging process
• To generate new ideas in packaging material of existing & new products

  - New packaging material introduction

  - New material processing technique

  - Innovation in  packing & filling line

  - Introduction of Latest printing and  decoration techniques

• To develop new / alternate vendors based on ideas generated and approved by business

  - Packaging Material existing / new dosage forms

  - Mould Development and amortization 

  - Rate discussion with DSG

• Design and appearance uplift for Emerging(ROW) and Regulated markets (US, EU and UK)

• New export customer requirement launch support (Biologics & Other Injectable)

• Trial materials arrangement
• Sourcing, Vendor Development, Selection and Performance Evaluation
• Change control and Material code creation through DDRL and CQA
• Cost Negotiations and finalisation for NPD
• Shade card approval and ship to site
• Ensure timely packaging material supply for first commercial supply
• Hand over sourcing & procurement activities to packaging procurement team for subsequent supply
• New material master code creations packaging materials in SAP MM Portal

Qualification:

Full time Diploma in Packaging Development from an Institute of repute

Experience: 10-16 years of experience in Commercial Packaging Development in Pharma, OTC,FMCG and N
