About The Role
The Senior Manager - Operational Excellence at BP Energy will play a pivotal role in driving end-to-end process improvement initiatives within the Customers & Products Business & Technology Center (BTC) based in Pune, India. This leadership position requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in operational transformation, process reengineering, and digital enablement. The successful candidate will develop and execute comprehensive operational excellence strategies aligned with business objectives, fostering a culture of continuous improvement across various functions such as Customer Operations, Asset Management, Supply Chain, and Sales Enablement.This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including operational excellence leads, transformation teams, and external partners, to identify opportunities for efficiency, cost reduction, and enhanced customer experience. The Senior Manager will also oversee performance management frameworks, governance structures, and change management initiatives to ensure sustainable improvements. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelors degree or higher in Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field, with an MBA or relevant masters degree preferred. A minimum of 15 years of experience in operations, transformation, or process quality is required, with at least three years in a senior leadership capacity. Certification in Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent is mandatory, and PMP certification is considered a plus. The candidate should demonstrate strong expertise in data-driven decision-making, performance analytics, automation, and digital tools such as RPA and workflow platforms. Leadership, influencing, and communication skills are essential, alongside a proven ability to manage large-scale transformation programs effectively.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the Operational Excellence strategy for the BTC, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and process end-to-end visibility.
- Establish and maintain operational standards, critical metrics, and service level agreements to ensure high-quality performance from BTC teams.
- Identify transformation opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase value creation, leveraging methodologies like Lean Six Sigma.
- Drive process mapping, reengineering, and standardization initiatives, promoting automation and elimination of waste through digital solutions.
- Design and oversee performance dashboards, reporting mechanisms, and governance frameworks to monitor and enhance operational performance.
- Lead operational reviews, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans to address performance gaps.
- Champion customer-centricity by integrating the voice of the customer into process design and service delivery.
- Act as a change agent to promote adoption of new processes and digital tools across teams and functions.
- Build and lead a high-performing Operational Excellence team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Coordinate cross-functional transformation initiatives, ensuring measurable business impacts and sustainable change.
